Exercise Regemin The Product

Adonis Golden Ratio (AGR) is a twelve week workout and nutrition program which is being marketed as “The Perfect Body Formula”. There is a science behind the perfect body measurements, and the goal of this program is to get you closer to that ideal. Like most workout programs out there AGR claims to provide you with “breakthrough tricks” that will result in a “dramatic transformation”. The truth is that there is no shortcut to getting the body of your dreams. It takes hard work and discipline. Also, the fundamentals of building a great physique will always remain the same. This does not mean, however, that AGR is a scam. The creators only make these claims because it’s what people want to hear. Thats what sells. Given my rating, I do believe that AGR delivers on its quality. My review will delve into the details of what you will receive after purchase.

If you do decide to purchase the Adonis Golden Ratio program I would greatly appreciate if you would do so through this link. Commissions from this site are what keep PrimeHealthSolutions funded so that I can continue providing honest reviews and protect you from scams.

Pros vs. Cons

Pros:

  • Step-by-step process
  • Different plans for different goals
  • Weekly updated nutrition plan
  • Active Community

Cons:

  • No deadlifts (apparently they increase the waist?!)
  • Tend to overgeneralize recommendations from nutrition calculator
  • Bad publicity and complaints about Kyle Leon (marketing mind behind this product)
  • After you pay, some additional up-sells

Who is Adonis Golden Ratio Intended For?

AGR offers three different workout, nutrition, and supplementation plans. Each is geared towards a particular goal of either fat loss, muscle gain, or fat loss with simultaneous muscle gain. AGR is being marketed to everyone at every level, but I do feel that the workout plans will be intense for the completely newbie.

If you are someone who is just starting off, there is a series of instructional workout videos within the members area. These videos show the proper form of every exercise included in the routines. There is also an active community which you can turn to for support along the way. AGR, though, is an intermediate/advanced workout program. It will be very difficult keeping up if you have no prior experience in the gym.

What’s Included

After purchase you get access to:

  • Theory of Ideal Proportions (eBook by John Barban)
  • Nutrition Software
  • Training Program
  • Meal Plans
  • Access to the Community
  • Bonuses

I am going to provide an overview of each of these individually.

Theory of Ideal Proportions

Barban talks about the prevalence of steroids in the fitness industry and how magazines are selling you on a physique that is unattainable without them. Some of his claims are exaggerated, but basically he explains how he shifted his focus from gaining size to developing the perfect proportions. He says that humans have been hardwired to look for particular physical traits in potential mates, and that his program is developed to get you the body that females will find most attractive. Specifically, to get you the ideal shoulder circumference to waist ratio. Barban goes on to explain a brief history behind the golden ratio (phi=1.618…) and how he implemented it into this workout program. Every chapter is followed by a success story complete with pictures and an interview.

The 128 page eBook is basically an overview of how the program came to be and why you should trust it. This seems unnecessary since you have already purchased it. Either way, you can skim through the book to gain a better understanding of what the golden ratio actually is.

Nutrition Software

You start the program by entering your body dimensions into the nutrition software which then outputs a list of weekly targets. The software is good, but I wouldn’t follow its recommendations blindly. Entering your measurements isn’t the best way to determine your targets. Two people can have the same measurements but a totally different body composition. Also, the software suggests daily caloric intake. This is also something that you should take with a pinch of salt. Everyone has a different metabolism and measurements alone cannot determine how many calories you should be consuming. You are meant to update your dimensions every week as to get updated weekly targets.

The Nutrition Software can serve as a good reference point when getting started. As you move through the program you will begin to get a better understanding of your body. Don’t be afraid to experiment by altering the recommendations from the software. The key will be to keep track of everything as you move along.

Nutrition Calculator

Training Program

There are three plans for three different goals; muscle gain, fat loss, combined muscle gain and fat loss. You enter your height, waist, and weight into a software that is meant to determine your main goal. This software is very general, and you’d do better to determine your own goal. Obviously, the fat loss plan is with the primary goal to lose weight while the muscle gain plan is with the primary goal to gain weight. Most people will fall somewhere in the middle. The combined muscle gain and fat loss plan is the best option, unless you are on either end of the extreme (obese, anorexic). Within each plan are workout, nutrition, and supplementation programs.

Plan Calculator

The workout programs are simple to follow as they are laid out on a day to day basis. This is not to say that they will be easy. The workouts include pyramid sets, super sets, and circuits. They will be long and tough. So once again I recommend that the completely newbie get some gym experience under his belt before starting this program. The “muscle gain” and “combined muscle gain and fat loss” workout routines are similar in exercises but vary in sets and reps. The fat loss workout routine is different in that it focuses on a lot of circuit training; one exercise after the other with minimal rest and high reps. The only problem I had with the workout programs is the exclusion of deadlifts. Barban mentions that they increase your waist and “make you look less attractive”. This simply isn’t true. The deadlift is the cornerstone of all strength exercises. It is a fundamental movement and should be included in all workout routines. I highly recommend that you incorporate this movement into your routine.

The nutrition programs start off by giving an overview of basic nutrition principles. A concept that really made sense to me and that I hadn’t heard of before was Reverse Tapering. So, the lower your body fat the harder it is to lose additional body fat. Reverse Tapering attempts to overcome this dilemma. The solution proposed is very logical; You increase your calories as your body fat drops. That’s the basic premise, but I can’t go into further details for fear of revealing the strategies. The program provides detailed guidelines on how you can design your diet as to follow Reverse Tapering principles. The nutrition program is there to provide you with the information to develop an understanding of what “healthy eating” actually entails. The specifics of what you should be eating are included in the Meal Plans section. The nutrition program is meant to work in conjunction with the nutrition calculator.

The supplementation programs recommend some products that, in my mind, are “questionable”. I would stay away from the recommended test boosters and fat burners. I don’t fully agree with the product recommendations supplementation program in AGR, so I have laid out a list of products that I would recommend based on your goals. Some of them are included in the AGR supplementation program and some aren’t.

Muscle Building

  • Whey Protein
  • Creatine
  • Fish Oil
  • Multivitamin

Fat Loss

  • Whey Protein
  • Fish Oil
  • Omega 6
  • Acetyl L-Carnitine
  • Green Tea Extract
  • Multivitamin
  • Branched Chain Amino Acids (to preserve muscle)

There is no need to complicate your supplementation plan. Your major focus should be on nutrition. It’s not like you will begin seeing results without proper nutrition. Supplementation can definitely enhance your efforts and get you to where you want to be faster. But do not make this your primary focus.

Meal Plans

There are a total of 9 meal plans. Each one provides you guidelines of what to eat each day for the full 84 days. Each day is divided into 6 meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and 3 snacks. The guidelines are broken down into meal proportions, item proportions, and preparation suggestions. There is also a grocery list at the end of each week with all the ingredients you will need to prepare all the meals as listed.

The meal plans are great for anyone looking to leave the guesswork out. Keeping track of macros can be a fleeting process, and it is also difficult to come up with meal ideas everyday. With everything laid out, it makes the process a lot smoother.

Community

The forums are fairly active with over 10,000 threads and over 44, 000 members. The community aspect of the product really does separate AGR from other fitness programs. With a community you are in touch with a bunch of people who are on the same path as you. The forums are a good place to keep track of your progress while sharing it with others.Community Statistics

Another cool aspect of the community is the Adonis Index Contest. There are 3 contests a year with a prize of $500. You submit a picture and enter all your current measurements. You have 12-20 weeks to prepare for your final submission. Entering a contest is a great way to stay motivated and keep up with your goals.

Bonus

You get access to two additional bonuses with your purchase:

  • The Adonis Arms and Abs Assault
  • 7 days out by Kyle Leon

The Adonis Arms and Abs Assault is a 4 week program that has workouts twice a week for a total of 8 workouts. All the exercises in this routine are included in the other programs, it’s just that this is a specialized form of training with it sole focus around abs and arms. Apparently 94% of men don’t maximize their potential for these two body parts. Not sure about the 94%, but this program will be effective in its goals.

7 days out is an eBook intended to give the training and nutritional guidelines for the last 7 days before a photoshoot. It is designed for people who have had over a year of lifting experience and are in a hurry to lose that last 5 pounds.

Final Word

For the $47 you get access to whole lot. The only problems I have with the program are the overgeneralized nutrition calculator, lack of deadlifts, and the supplementation program. Other than that it is pretty solid program and will deliver the value for your money. If you think that it doesn’t, then there is always the 60-day full money back guarantee.

Thanks for the very comprehensive review of the Adoins Golden Ratio workout and nutrition program. I have been getting of my supplements from GNC, but I am going to give this program a shot. Great review and I will share product with others at my gym.

Like most things worth having, getting a good body will be hard work. This program will definitely serve as an effective roadmap but you have to be ready to push yourself!

  2. Fred Smith says

I can tell you from personal experience that this program is the real deal. Even without focusing on diet and the structure they have there, I’m half the size I used to be and my results have been very dramatic.

I’m back in my 2nd cycle, as it’s never ending. I achieved my arms and shoulder ratios and have about another 6 inches I need to get off my waist before I hit it.

High, high, HIGH recommend- do it exactly as they say though and you will surprise yourself.

    It’s the real deal.

    • Adam says

For the price and what you get, sounds like there is quite a bit in this product. Nice to see a community there you can be part of after purchasing as well. I’ve seen this advertised by quite a few people as well. Thanks for sharing some info on this

    • Adam says

Yup it is quite a hyped product, but most of the people who have written reviews about it haven’t even used the product.
I thought it would be useful for others to reveal the EXACT process of that the program follows.
Glad that this was helpful :)
