We live in a day and age with an overabundance of information. A simple google search for the term “healthy living” will bring you hundreds of millions of results. With so much out there it is easy to disregard the fundamentals.

An understanding of the fundamentals is imperative. The thing you have to understand about health is that there is no one size fits all approach. Everyone is different, and what works for one person will not necessarily work for another. At Belgium Health Research my aim is to empower you with the knowledge to make your own healthy lifestyle choices. I also review a variety of products to reveal whether or not they are worth your money.

About AdamMy name is Adam and let me tell you a bit about my journey to “healthy”. I put that in quotations because the term “healthy” is pretty arbitrary, in that everyone has different goals. When I started off all I wanted was to look good and get abs. I read somewhere that abs are made in the kitchen, so I began research on nutrition and stumbled upon the Atkins Diet (the particular trend at the time). Atkins was seen as “revolutionary” and everyone who wanted to lose weight was on it. I started an ab routine, went on Atkins for 2 months, lost 20 pounds, and reached my goal. I had abs and my body looked good, but I didn’t FEEL good. That really is what health has come to mean to me, how one feels. Atkins had me feeling weak, I was always sleeping, and my metabolism had slowed down. I had abs, but I was NOT healthy. There is always a new fad in the health industry, these days it is the Paleo Diet. However, one lesson I took from the Atkins experience is never to fall into the trap of thinking that there is one best approach. It is best to experiment, figure out what works best for you, and develop your own personalized plan .

I started Belgium Health Research to provide you with the guidelines to come up with a personalized approach to a healthy lifestyle. On this site you will find articles and practical tips on health, fitness, and wellness to get you closer to where you want to be. Remember that the road to a healthy lifestyle is a journey and that there is no destination. It is a path of constant self improvement.
