I came across Adonis Golden Ratio probably the same way you did:
Through an online advertisement.
Health wise, I wasn’t completely out of shape but I had realized the importance of a structured plan in order to achieve my goals faster.
I went on to watch the AGR sales video and eventually bought in to the program.
I am always skeptical when buying products online, but the 60-day money back guarantee gave me some sort of a comfort cushion.
Worst case scenario:
I try it for two months, and if it doesn’t work I apply for a refund.
The AGR program is designed around building your body’s proportions based on the Golden Ratio.
I go over more of this in my review, but basically the Golden Ratio plays into the male body in terms of the shoulder-to-waist ratio.
Shoulder measurement is a good indicator of muscle composition and waist measurement is a good indicator of body fat.
The ideal physique according to the Golden Ratio has the shoulders 1.618x wider than the waist.
The following were my measurements before I got started with AGR:
- Waist: 33 inches
- Shoulders: 48 inches
- Chest: 40 inches
- Arms: 14 inches
- Calves: 13 inches
- Quads: 22 inches
Based on the Golden Ratio, these are my ideal measurements:
- Waist=0.447 x height = 32.184 inches (I am 72 inches tall)
- Shoulders=1.618 x waist= 52.04 inches
- Chest= 6.5 x wrist= 45.5 inches (My wrist is 7 inches)
- Arms: 2.5 x wrist = 17.5 inches
- Calves = 17.5 inches
- Quads = 25 inches
This is one of the major components of AGR that really stands out:
It gives you a very particular shape to strive for rather than an arbitrary goal of just “getting in shape.”
So I had my goals down on paper and the AGR system was meant to help bring me closer to them.
Did it work?
The following is my 12-week transformation picture:
The first picture is me with my original measurements as listed above.
In the second picture my following measurements are:
- Waist: 32 inches
- Shoulders: 50.5 inches
- Chest: 43 inches
- Arms: 15.5 inches
- Calves: 13 inches
- Quads: 23 inches
So I didn’t get to my exact ideal measurements, but am much closer overall.
I lost an inch on my waist and gained inches everywhere else (except calves).
And in case you’re wondering, in the first picture I am 150 pounds and in the second 167 pounds.
I gained over 17 pounds of lean mass during the 12-weeks of AGR and managed to develop a pretty solid core as well.
The 12 weeks of AGR got me started on my fitness journey and I am now in the best shape of my life.
Nonetheless, I am going to continue to strive for more.
What I Like About AGR
So, obviously there are many aspects that I like about AGR.
The main thing that made it work for me is that there is zero guesswork.
All the workouts are laid out on a day-to-day basis, and so are the meal plans.
You know exactly what exercises you have to do and how much food to eat every single day.
I also loved the AGR calculator, which updated my caloric intake every week based on progress.
What I Didn’t Like
As you may have observed from my before/after measurements:
My quads gained only an inch and my calves didn’t grow at all.
This is one of the negative aspects of AGR:
There is not enough emphasis on the lower body.
My lower body has always been lagging in development compared to my upper body, so this factor is especially important for me.
I am now working on
There are two main factors that will determine your results with AGR:
- Your starting point
- Your commitment
I was not overweight and am relatively young, so I was able to see great results.
Whether AGR will get you ripped abs, like it did for me, will depend on how many pounds you have to lose.
How closely you follow the AGR workouts and meal plans will determine the quality of your results.
I didn’t skip a workout over the 12-weeks and stuck with the meal plans to the T.
At this point, you’re probably wondering if AGR is the right program for you.
I would say to try it out.
If you don’t think it was the right investment, you can always get your money back*.
